Nawalparasi banana farmers receive low prices despite high market rates

Commercial banana farmers in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) have reported receiving only Rs 60 per dozen for their produce, while the retail price in the market reaches as high as Rs 200 per dozen. They complain that the wide gap between farm-gate and consumer prices leaves them with low returns despite high market demand. Local farmer Durga Prasad Bhurtel from Madhyabindu highlighted the issue, noting that farmers are forced to sell at low rates.
