युरोपेली संघले दक्षिण एसियामा क्षेत्रीय ऊर्जा कनेक्टिभिटी सुदृढ गर्न ५० लाख युरोको नयाँ परियोजना सुरु गरेको छ। यस पहलले नेपाल, भारत, बंगलादेश, भुटान र श्रीलंकामा सुलभ र स्वच्छ विद्युत आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित गर्न एकीकृत क्षेत्रीय विद्युत बजारलाई सहयोग गर्ने लक्ष्य राखेको छ। युरोपेली संघको 'ग्लोबल गेटवे' रणनीति अन्तर्गतको यो परियोजनाले सीमापार विद्युत व्यापार र नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा एकीकरणमा जोड दिनेछ।
