कानुन, न्याय तथा संसदीय मामिला मन्त्री सोबिता गौतमले राष्ट्रिय अनुसन्धान विभागलाई गृह मन्त्रालयको सट्टा प्रधानमन्त्री तथा मन्त्रिपरिषद्को कार्यालय मातहत नै राख्नु उपयुक्त हुने सुझाव दिनुभएको छ। काठमाडौँमा सांसदहरूले उठाएका प्रश्नको जवाफ दिँदै उहाँले विभागको वर्तमान संरचनालाई निरन्तरता दिनु पर्ने धारणा व्यक्त गर्नुभयो। यो प्रस्तावले गुप्तचर निकायको प्रशासनिक क्षेत्राधिकारबारे संघीय सरकारको दृष्टिकोणलाई स्पष्ट पारेको छ।
