भोटेकोशीमा आएको बाढीले रसुवा र तातोपानी भन्सार नाकाको सञ्चालनमा अवरोध पुर्याएपछि वीरगन्ज भन्सार कार्यालयबाट हुने दैनिक आयातमा ७० प्रतिशतले वृद्धि भएको छ। उत्तरी नाकाहरूबाट आयात हुने सामानहरू अहिले वीरगन्ज हुँदै भित्रिन थालेका छन्। वीरगन्ज भन्सार कार्यालयका प्रमुख भन्सार प्रशासक कृष्णप्रसाद मैनालीका अनुसार उत्तरी सीमा क्षेत्रमा भएको भौतिक पूर्वाधारको क्षतिका कारण व्यापारीहरूले यो वैकल्पिक मार्ग प्रयोग गरेका हुन्।
