नेपाल संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानव अधिकार परिषद्‌को २०२७–२०२९ कार्यकालका लागि निर्वाचित भएको छ। संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभामा भएको मतदानमा नेपालले १८० मतमध्ये १७३ मत प्राप्त गरेको नेपालको स्थायी नियोग, न्युयोर्कले जारी गरेको प्रेस विज्ञप्तिअनुसार जनाइएको छ। ४७ सदस्यीय परिषद्‌मा नेपाल आफ्नो समूहबाट निर्वाचित हुने देशहरूमध्ये सर्वाधिक मत पाउने देश बनेको छ। निर्वाचनपछि संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका लागि नेपालका राजदूत तथा स्थायी प्रतिनिधि लोक बहादुर थापाले सदस्य राष्ट्रहरूप्रति धन्यवाद ज्ञापन गर्दै बहुपक्षीयता, मानव अधिकार, अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय कानुन र संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघ केन्द्रित नियममा आधारित अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय व्यवस्थाप्रति नेपालको प्रतिबद्धता दोहोर्याउनुभएको छ।
