नेपालका लागि जापानी राजदूत माएडा तोरुले कृषि, वन तथा वातावरण मन्त्री गीता चौधरीसँग मन्त्रालयमा शिष्टाचार भेट गर्नुभएको छ। भेटका क्रममा उहाँहरूबीच कृषि क्षेत्रको आधुनिकीकरण र नेपाल र जापानबीचको द्विपक्षीय सम्बन्धलाई थप सुदृढ बनाउने विषयमा छलफल भएको थियो। मन्त्री चौधरीले सन् १९५४ देखि नेपालको विकास प्रयासमा जापानले पुर्‍याउँदै आएको सहयोगको प्रशंसा गर्दै जापानलाई एक भरपर्दो विकास साझेदारको रूपमा उल्लेख गर्नुभयो।
