ह्याबिट्याट फर ह्युम्यानिटी इन्टरनेशनलले सार्वजनिक गरेको 'होम एट व्हाट कस्ट?' नामक नयाँ विश्वव्यापी अध्ययनले नेपालमा ७० प्रतिशत नेपालीले आवास खर्च धान्न नसक्दा नियमित रूपमा संघर्ष गर्नुपरेको देखाएको छ। यो विश्व औसत ३४ प्रतिशतभन्दा दोब्बरभन्दा बढी हो। राष्ट्रिय रूपमा प्रतिनिधित्व गर्ने सर्वेक्षणमा आधारित उक्त अध्ययनअनुसार समान अनुपातका नेपालीले जीवनमा आउने कुनै पनि अप्रत्याशित धक्काले आफ्नो आवास सुरक्षा जोखिममा पार्न सक्ने चिन्ता व्यक्त गरेका छन्। प्रतिवेदनले आवास असुरक्षाका कारण नेपालमा आर्थिक र स्वास्थ्य दुवै क्षेत्रमा गम्भीर सम्झौता गर्नुपरेको औंल्याएको छ।
