सगरमाथा आरोहणको चरम सिजन सुरु हुँदै गर्दा बेस क्याम्प र क्याम्प १ बीचको मार्गमा करिब ३० मिटर अग्लो अस्थिर हिमखण्ड (सेराक) अवरोध बनेको छ। सयौं आरोहीहरू र स्थानीय गाइडहरूले आफ्नो आरोहण स्थगित गर्न बाध्य भएका छन्। नेपालको पर्वतारोहण विभागका हिमल गौतमका अनुसार उक्त हिमखण्ड पार गर्न अत्यन्त जोखिमपूर्ण छ र 'आइसफल डाक्टर'हरूले यो पग्लिनुको प्रतीक्षा गर्नुपर्ने बताएका छन्।
