नेपाल सरकारले पशु वधशाला तथा मासु जाँच ऐन, २०५५ अनुसार काठमाडौं उपत्यकाभर मासु सुरक्षा नियमहरू कडाइका साथ लागू गर्ने भएको छ। यो अभियानले काठमाडौं, ललितपुर र भक्तपुरका सबै २१ स्थानीय तहलाई समेट्नेछ र खुला ठाउँमा मासु प्रदर्शन गर्न तथा बासी, बिग्रेको वा मिसावट गरिएको मासु बेच्न प्रतिबन्ध लगाउनेछ। अनुपालन सुनिश्चित गर्न सरकारले नेपाल राजपत्रमा आधिकारिक सूचना प्रकाशित गरेको छ, जसमा लागू मिति नोभेम्बर १ र नोभेम्बर १७ उल्लेख गरिएको छ।
